Some sources claim this is Austrian-born Adam Rainer, the only person in medical history to be both a little person in the beginning of his life, measuring only 4'10' at age 18', and later a giant at 7'1''. A tumour on his hypophysis caused an overproduction of growth hormones, which made him grow at an alarming rate.

He lived to the age of 51.
