Miss Ramey was a school teacher and a socialite of Alexandria, Virginia. Her name appeared in the local newspapers several times, particularly in the “Alexandria Society” section which was basically a gossip page detailing the lives of high society people.

She was also part of Alexandria’s Professional Women’s Club who campaigned for broader education for women in US colleges across the country in 1922, as this article below describes.

In an article dated July 25, 1925, and then again in August 9, 1925, we can read that Elizabeth and presumably her mother went on a car trip to visit relatives.

Here she is posing in her Model T Ford!
